Edgewater Park boasts a beautiful lake surrounded by a lush tree canopy also commonly referred to as the Parkway Pines trees. The trees were originally planted in 1939-1941 by TxDOT which gives them their name, "Parkway Pines". In the fall from October to December, you can see large flocks of Cedar Waxwings feasting on berries from these stately pines.

Other facilities at Edgewater Park include:

- Fishing Pier  that extends over the lake, has a handicap access ramp, and is open to everyone. You can also rent fishing poles and bait from the concessionaire.

- Athletic Fields for Soccer and Softball

Ample parking is available adjacent to the park. The main entrance however has large diagonal parking spaces just outside the gates that will hold several automobiles safely out of traffic lanes. You can also park behind Edgewater Elementary or in front of Shady Acres RV park just off IH 45 South where there is plenty of room for equestrian trailers too! Highly recommended if you plan on taking them around the city.
