About La Marque, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located about 40 miles south of Houston, Texas is a city known as La Marque. It is positioned in Galveston County west of Galveston Bay. The city is part of the Houston Metropolitan Area and had a population of about 16,500 people in 2016 according to the United States Census Bureau. La Marque is known as the Gateway to the Gulf.
La Marque was originally known as Highlands until it was renamed in the 1890s. The postmistress, Madam St. Ambrose, chose the city’s current name which means “the mark” in French. The community was known as Buttermilk Station during the Civil War because soldiers would purchase buttermilk in the city during their trips between Galveston and Houston. Following the Civil War, the community continued to grow. By the early 1900s, four railroads reached the city. Today, La Marque remains a popular city. It is easily accessed from Houston and is home to a Renaissance District. In La Marque, there is something for everyone.
It is recommended by professional HVAC technicians for residents of La Marque to have cooling and heating systems installed in their homes. The city is located in a region of the United States that experiences very warm weather during the summer seasons and cool weather during the winter seasons. Daytime temperature highs range from the mid to upper-80s during the months of June, July, and August. High humidity levels and precipitation are common during these months as well. Cooling systems like central air conditioning units are best suited to be installed in the homes of La Marque residents. When properly installed, the systems keep residents cool and comfortable inside their homes.
In addition to cooling systems, it is recommended to residents that heating systems be installed in their homes. Despite the city’s location in the southern United States, cool weather conditions are common during the winter seasons. Daytime temperatures range from the low to mid-60s during the months of December, January, and February. Heating systems like furnaces help La Marque residents stay warm and comfortable in their homes when temperatures drop.
